Well, he actually did when he was much younger, but there was this evil intergalactic warlord who was even stronger than my dad that took my dad away from his family when he was a kid. Dad was the planet's prince, so the warlord did it to prove how powerful he was. The warlord told him that if he didn't do what the warlord wanted that he'd destroy my dad's planet and everyone on it...

[Of course, said warlord eventually blew up the planet anyway.]

After the warlord was defeated, my dad didn't do anything like that again. He eventually started using his power to protect Earth.
