For what seemed like moments ago, Static watched as his mother vanished into darkness. A barrier constructed of space of time kept him from reaching her. And there'd been nothing he could do. Everything went dark and then there was nothing.

Until now. There was grass, the sounds of chirping birds and the sun getting in his eyes. Immediately Virgil sat up in a panic and looked around frantically.

"Mom!?"

But as far as he could tell, there was nothing. Worse than that, he realized he was in nothing but a pair of white pants that he had way more sense than to ever pick up for himself. And he was in a forest, which didn't bode well. Okay, so you're Virgil right now. In the middle of nowhere. Possibly in Medieval times if Timezone messed things up.

"Oh man. Not good."

Warily, he began to explore.

[Action - Afternoon]

So he was stuck in a place called Luceti. The first thing he did, once he got a chance to be by himself, was circle back to the clothing store and assemble his Static outfit. He found his metal disc at the item shop not long after. So once he felt confident with his much weaker powers, he took off towards the barrier. After about fifteen minutes of pumping it with electricity and getting nowhere, he decided it would be a bad idea to drain himself completely and be forced to walk all the way back to the town. So he returned to town, found a convenient power outlet to draw power from at the Tea Shop, and finally decided to do something about the journal. The question was... introduce himself as Static or as Virgil Hawkins?

Well, the answer was obvious.

So hey, Static here. If you haven’t heard of me, I’m a superhero from Dakota City. But really, has anyone heard of me? No, it’s not in North or South Dakota. I get that a lot. So I guess you could kinda say I’m new here. But I was kind of wondering about how to deal with the superhero thing. There's others here, right? The secret identity thing is pretty important, after all. But it's probably gonna be hard keeping it secret in a small town like this. Unless I just wear the mask all the time. I could probably do that if I have to.

Man, I just wish the Justice League was here. Batman would have already found a way out of this place by now.

Can't say I've heard about any League members popping up, but there's a couple of us from the Team. [Less known, but just as valid. Still, Zatanna has to pause.] If you know of the Team. If you're from our universe--you know, maybe I should start over.

Uh, you kind of didn't say what the name of the team was-- [And he pauses because the name suddenly sticks out.]

Wait. Like Zatanna the magician?

[After all, that's not exactly a common name. But something doesn't seem quite... right about that.]

[Well, if he shows up at the tea shop, then he's gonna run into Suki. She was just finishing up her shift when she spotted Virgil.]

Um... what are you doing?

[Well. He was sitting here with what is a rather obvious electrical current running from his finger to the electrical socket. He was trying to be subtle.]

Uh. Ordering some tea?

[Voice, filtered]

I'm not sure how the hero thing works in Dakota City, but generally it's not very subtle to advertise your need for a secret identity. You might have already given away too much.

[Also how do you know Batman? That part's implied.]

[Static doesn't realize who he's talking to yet, but...]

Well I kinda figured the mask was kind of a give away. People don't usually wear them as a fashion statement.

[The name doesn't ring any bells for Jason, but it wouldn't be the first time that happened here. Really, just the fact that he seems familiar with his world's heroes is enough to make him interested.]

I don't know much about the whole "superhero" thing, but my advice? Don't wear the mask all the time. It makes you look silly.

[Is that a jab at someone he knows? No, no, not at all.]

Hey, I happen to look pretty cool in my mask.

[Seriously he'd probably wear it to school if he could.]

There's no real point in hiding your identity here. There's a lot of people with powers here and the bad guys are the Malnosso who probably already know your real name.

[Virgil turns his book over and looks at the cover, which still reads "Virgil" on it.]

Well, okay, you got me there. But I bet Superman doesn't just give his real name to everyone if he's caught by aliens.

Bolin's usual morning run took him out into the woods like it always did, and on such a sunny day he pushed himself to go a little further before turning back. It was on this extra push that he spotted Virgil wandering around. Ooh boy, a new feather.

"Hey!" he called before jogging closer to Virgil with a raised hand. "Do you need some help?"

Virgil was still trying to gain his bearing, but he felt a surge of relief when he heard someone else. At least he wouldn't be lost.

"Yeah. Tell me you've heard of Dakota City."

A secret identity? Really. What do you have to hide?

[ Clearly, she's not too keen on the idea of secret identities. ]

Well... my identity? I mean, that's why it's called a secret identity.

[One word was a giant ping to Static's entry for this kid.]

Whoooa, you're a superhero? How old are you!?

[Not that he's judging. Teen super heroes are awesome and that's exactly how this guy sounds. Oh, wait, he's got Q&A going on. Better help with that.]

Eh, well, secret identities don't seem to matter much here. If you get drafted people are likely gonna know who you are even if you're in civvies. But, I think tons of people aren't doing the whole secret identity thing while they're here.

Uh, sixteen. But what do you mean by 'get drafted'. Are we talking being drafted to professional sports or like draft drafted?

You know Batman? [Could this guy be another Titan that Aang doesn't know about?]

Yeah, me and Batman are old friends. I even got to fly his jet once.

[Several parts of that message caught his attention, but Joker's keeping the camera covered and sticking with writing - if this kid knows Batman, he could be trouble. Or he could be fun to mess with - either way, there's no point in showing his face just yet.]

Didn't even know Dakota City had superheroes - no offense. Then again, I don't really get out of Gotham much, so there's probably a lot that I don't know about as far as that stuff's concerned.

Can't say I've heard about any members of the Superfriends showing up, though - don't know how much they could help anyway.

I think it might be best to be careful about information like that here. [It's a soft reminder that this may be a small village - but it has dangers in it.]

I should also tell you, your friend was here before. [Which means if he found the way out, he left everyone else to suffer.]

[Well. It looked like someone else was here. Although she didn't recognize his voice, and the only people she knew from Dakota were Icon and Rocket. Someone from another world or someone the Team just hadn't heard of yet? She debates a moment and then decides to hell with it and responds anyway.]

Some people are a little too obsessive about their secret identities, [not that she's naming any names or anything] but yeah, it's a lot harder in a small town like this. I think it's a choice you'll have to figure out for yourself.

And yeah, there are others here. Although we might not all be from the home you know. I'm not sure I've heard of anyone named Static before. Sorry?

Also, I think this place might even give Batman a hard time.

Sounds like a lot what I've been getting already. It's fine. I mean, I'm not exactly a big superhero outside of Dakota anyway.

[But he's a little bummed mostly because he was hoping to run into someone he knew. It's not recognition he's looking for, just friends.]
