For what seemed like moments ago, Static watched as his mother vanished into darkness. A barrier constructed of space of time kept him from reaching her. And there'd been nothing he could do. Everything went dark and then there was nothing.

Until now. There was grass, the sounds of chirping birds and the sun getting in his eyes. Immediately Virgil sat up in a panic and looked around frantically.

"Mom!?"

But as far as he could tell, there was nothing. Worse than that, he realized he was in nothing but a pair of white pants that he had way more sense than to ever pick up for himself. And he was in a forest, which didn't bode well. Okay, so you're Virgil right now. In the middle of nowhere. Possibly in Medieval times if Timezone messed things up.

"Oh man. Not good."

Warily, he began to explore.

[Action - Afternoon]

So he was stuck in a place called Luceti. The first thing he did, once he got a chance to be by himself, was circle back to the clothing store and assemble his Static outfit. He found his metal disc at the item shop not long after. So once he felt confident with his much weaker powers, he took off towards the barrier. After about fifteen minutes of pumping it with electricity and getting nowhere, he decided it would be a bad idea to drain himself completely and be forced to walk all the way back to the town. So he returned to town, found a convenient power outlet to draw power from at the Tea Shop, and finally decided to do something about the journal. The question was... introduce himself as Static or as Virgil Hawkins?

Well, the answer was obvious.

[Voice]

So hey, Static here. If you haven’t heard of me, I’m a superhero from Dakota City. But really, has anyone heard of me? No, it’s not in North or South Dakota. I get that a lot. So I guess you could kinda say I’m new here. But I was kind of wondering about how to deal with the superhero thing. There's others here, right? The secret identity thing is pretty important, after all. But it's probably gonna be hard keeping it secret in a small town like this. Unless I just wear the mask all the time. I could probably do that if I have to.

Man, I just wish the Justice League was here. Batman would have already found a way out of this place by now.

Well it's Robin. He was trained by Batman. He's gotta have a good reason for it.

I bet he thinks he does. But if we're going by that, then I can say that the Batman in my world offered to share his secret identity with me.

Hey! You can't just tell people you know Batman's secret identity. You're going to make yourself a target now. [GOSH even Static knows that. Way to be a newb, Zatanna.]

Oh it is, huh? And just why's that?

Some of us superheroes have people to protect. The less people who know who we are, the better.

Oh, of course. How silly of me to forget. [That is not the sound of an impressed girl.] And it’s not like I can actually defend myself or anything.

Hey, I'm not saying you can't magic some bad guys up. But it's not like I told my secret identity to the Justice League and they're the Justice League.

Yeah, they are. Which means they probably knew your secret identity before you came up with your superhero name. [At least the ones in her universe probably would have. Batman at the very least.]

Anyway, it’s a small town. Unless you’re going to be wearing the mask one hundred percent of the time? It’s probably not going to be secret here for long either.

[... that's super creepy. The Justice League surely have better things to do with their time.]

Hey, maybe I will. Full-time superhero can't be that bad, right?

[Better things than keeping track of metahumans?]

Sure, if you're not interested in making friends or having hobbies or anything like that. [AKA having a life.]

Superheroes can be friends. I was up in the Justice League HQ and they seemed like buddies.

Yeah, but that's on the job. I mean when you're not patrolling for the crime that really doesn't happen here.

But hey, you've got to do what you think is right. [Just please don't turn into another creeper like Robin, okay?]

Yeah. Guess so. [...] Uh, by the way, that girl Artemis is your pal, right?

Yeah, she is. I’m guessing you’ve met her?

She invited me to your floor.

She did? Well, I guess that makes sense. I mean, we all live on the same floor—us and the Robins. Maybe it’ll be good if the pseudo-Team sticks together.

[Even she’s using the term pretty loosely.]

Right. The Titans.

[It's all Batman told him. He's been kind of itching for his invite for a long time and this is the closest he's got.]

Technically, the majority of us are on the Team. Robin's the only Titan--the one Robin.

[The One Robin to rule them all?]

Okay, so we compromise. Titan Team. Or Team Titans. Whatever works, right? Me and Gear don't even have a name, since it's just the two of us, so I'm not really picky with what we use.

[In his dreams, maybe.]

The appeal of alliteration aside, shouldn't we, I don't know, have a floor meeting before we pick a team name?

Right. Yeah. Floor meeting sounds like a good idea.

It'll definitely be interesting. But I'll leave that up to you to organize. [Because herding two Robins, Artemis, and heck, even Zatanna herself into one room? Not a task she wants to be in charge of.]
